What Wise charges to receive money in India
A Wise Business account gives you account details your client can pay in US dollars like a local transfer. When you convert the balance to rupees, Wise shows its conversion fee before you confirm, converts at the mid-market rate, charges $2 for the eFIRC, the record of a payment from abroad, and adds 18% GST on those fees.
The calculator uses Wise's public USD to INR quote, refreshed every day, rather than your own account's quote, so treat it as an estimate. Your Wise account shows the exact fee each time.
Why the payment record matters
Payments for services from abroad usually need a record from your bank or provider showing the money came in from outside India. Wise issues it as an eFIRC for the $2 charge. Keep it with the invoice for each payment; the payments guide explains why.
Questions people ask
- How much does Wise charge to receive money in India?
